Excited to Fail

I love to fail, and you should too!

You heard right…..

We’ve all heard that we have to fail in order to succeed.  Yet, do we really believe that? It’s almost like that thing people tell us so we don’t feel so bad when we fail miserably at something.  Like the pat on the back as if to say, “it’s okay, everyone fails.  Just get up and try again.”  Blah, blah, blah…. But really they are thinking ‘You are awful at this! Please stop before you embarrass yourself.’  This was always the sort of thing floating around in my head.  I never put much stock into that whole thought of failing your way to success.

Wrong…..

I was wrong.  Not like I was a little wrong.  No, I was dead wrong!! Not only is it possible that you will fall on your face over and over, it’s pretty much a requirement for success.  This is important to understand.  We hear this and maybe even believe it, but we still look at other people and wonder how they achieved success without having to fail over and over.  This can really mess with your mind.  Just because you don’t know someone else’s failures doesn’t mean they didn’t have them.  They did! Guess what, they’ve had way more than you.  The difference is they didn’t let it stop them.  They didn’t go into a slump and stop working at their goal.  They failed and kept going.  That’s why you never even noticed that they fell on their face.

Here’s the secret; successful people aren’t afraid to fail.  The fear of failure paralyzes some people.  Therefore, they won’t do any activities that they might fail at.  Yet, those are the exact activities they need to do to succeed.  Make sense? You have to do the activities it takes to succeed, fail at them, and keep moving forward.  As you move forward, do so knowing you will in fact fail again.  And with that will come success.

So get your ass out there and FAIL!!!
